Woo-hoo! It’s, like, totally summer! Here in Houston, Texas, USA (the air conditioning capital of the world), summer means scary electric bills, kids peeing in pools, pigeon-sized mosquitoes, hurricanes, and plenty of high quality Lone Star beer (in handy 16-oz. “tallboy” cans). Yay!
In honor of Otis Redding, an undisputedly cool cat who would have been 67 on September 9, my new update presents cats of a rather different variety. Yes, I’m talking about the Felis catus, or house cat, which can be cool, but will never be able to sing like Otis.
Like most cats, ours refuse to do anything useful. “We have no thumbs,” they say. “How are we supposed to fix the carburetor?” Whatever. As it turns out, our cats do have one useful trait; they all are supermodels. And for the past year, I’ve been compiling images of our freeloading felines, certain they’ll make us wealthy enough to purchase more homes than we can remember. These photos are a departure from my usual work; hope you like them.
My latest wallpaper is from right here in downtown Houston, Texas, USA. It was taken way back in October 2005, just as I was getting started with digital.
