This shot was taken inside what must have been a roofed portion of the cathedral. I think a fire destroyed this part of the building. Either that, or the subcontractors walked off the job early. The belfry was closed, so I couldn't go much further. I've since seen photos taken inside the tower, so maybe it's open again.
Imagine the huge windows or walkways (or whatever they were) on either wall-before they were bricked over. I don't know what this amazing "kerk" looked like in its prime five or six centuries ago, but it's fun to let the mind wander. Behind me is another large section of the cathedral, which is still in use.
