On a good day (or at least one without two fresh feet of snow on the ground), le Lac Bleu is only a 15-minute hike from here. How badly do you think I wanted to trudge off into that awesome emptiness and see what was out there? I tried walking, but the snow was just too deep. In places, it was up past my waist. I had a hard time moving, let alone hiking. As King Lear might have said (but didn’t), “My kingdom for a pair of snowshoes!” Oh well. I’ll have something to look forward to next time. If you’ve ever made the hike to le Lac Bleu, please tell me about it.
