Obviously, a fisheye shot. It was wonderful to be out on this brisk, clear night. A little sad, too, because these were my last few hours in France. By this time the next day, I would be almost back to my “real life” in Houston.

As I wandered, I was swept up in the ambient mix of street sounds, friends in conversation, and distant music. People were out walking, sitting on blankets, selling trinkets. For a moment, I was part of it all. Right in the center, actually. It's easy to be jaded, but I really enjoyed this final night of my brief Parisian fantasy life. It was spectacular to be at the Eiffel Tower, engaged in the scene but free to roam and take photos at a casual pace. I felt fortunate to have that moment, and envious of people who can go any time they want.
