
The photos from Skimteflaten (this series) and Skrukkelia (below) were taken along a 20-mile stretch of County Road 180, between the villages of Jaren and Hurdal, Norway. This drive was perhaps the most spectacular part of our trip. For reference, these photos were taken the same day we went to Lillehammer.
I actually sat down in the snow to get this photo. Being a city dweller, I don’t get to see stuff like this often. I’m not going to guess the source of these tracks. If you know, please tell me. It didn’t matter. I enjoyed pausing for a moment in the glorious silence, imagining what might have left these footprints, and how long ago it had passed through.
