Out for a stroll around Stockholm’s Gamla Stan (Old Town) on a late May evening…. I recall the street lamps flickered on at 9:30, but the sky was too bright to take “night” photos. Even in this image, shot sometime around 10:00 pm, you can see the sky is far from dark. No worries. The evening was beautiful, and we waited out the darkness by eating twice, goofing around, and generally living beyond our means.

I thank Christoffer and Susanne for their patience during this photographic excursion. I shot a pile of photos, but they never threw anything (very large) at me or got (dangerously) unruly. In some ways, Gamla Stan is even more intriguing at night than during the day, and I wanted to capture some of that atmosphere while I had the chance. I've learned never to assume that I'll be able to go back and try again tomorrow, and I'm glad I captured these images when I did. The following night, our last of the trip, we had dinner with our golf pro friend, Stefan, and headed back to the hotel early, exhausted, and pretty depressed about leaving the next day.
