Of course, Husaby kyrka and the other churches we visited have changed over time, probably quite a lot. All have been renovated, updated with electricity and plumbing, etc. But some parts (like the stone walls, perhaps?) are original. The ceiling paintings date from the 15th Century. It was peaceful to stand still in the quiet church (only a couple other people came in while we were there) soak in the ambience, and imagine a time, centuries ago, when Husaby kyrka was young. I wondered about the people who came here, how they lived, what they thought. Maybe it sounds corny, but I spent a fair amount of time contemplating such things this day.
