This cliff (I think they call this "Mustard Point") doesn’t look too far away. That’s what I was thinking when I decided to meander on over and get some close(r)-ups. After my little hike, I’d guess the base of the cliff is at least a half-mile away. Not a huge distance, but a lot further than I expected when I hopped out of the car in 100-degree heat. The cliff is so enormous (maybe 1,500 feet tall), it’s difficult to estimate distance. Even the large boulders at the base of the cliff are probably 25 feet high.

The previous two photos (Big Water 1 and 2) were taken after I had gotten quite a bit closer to this cliff, and even then, I wasn’t as near as you might think. The good news is that all this exercise allowed me to justify an extra beer at dinner that night.
