You’re standing at Yaki Point, on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, looking down at Kaibab Trail. For perspective, scan very carefully to find two hikers (tiny black dots) on the trail, near the bottom left. Susanne and I used Kaibab Trail for our heroic hike of the Canyon. We stumbled down Kaibab from the South Rim to the Colorado River (where we enjoyed leftover pizza for breakfast!), connected with the River Trail, and hiked back up to the South Rim via Bright Angel Trail. It took about 12 hours to complete the 18-mile journey, including the final cruel miles up the Canyon wall. We celebrated with a feast of more pizza and beer.
