This is an old, disused stove at Lonely Dell Ranch, where John D. Lee lived with his fetching wives. The ranch consists of a couple small houses, an earthen cellar, an orchard, and various wild critters. It's less than a mile from here to the Colorado River, so they didn't have to worry about catching a bus to work. But it must have been a lonely existence indeed, as there is nothing near this baking flood plain. Even today, there is no town or other sign of life for miles. I have to give John D. and his wives credit just for surviving in this harsh, if beautiful, place.
