Welcome to Lazyman’s Wildlife Photography 101. I was lounging on my parent’s back patio, just beside the hummingbird feeder. As one does on vacation, I’d been enjoying a beer or four. Comfortably strewn across a couple chairs and intoxicated by the perfect weather on this quiet afternoon, I may probably even have been dozing. My peace was disturbed, though, by the buzz of an alarmingly large bee, which turned out to be this hummingbird.
Give me credit: inebriated and sleeping though I may have probably been, I had the foresight to keep my camera within easy reach. (The committed lazy photographer prefers to move no more than necessary.) Indeed, I recall not even having to sit up to grab the camera and capture this excellent photo. You kinda have to be impressed with the efficiency.
