Here’s the famous Flamingo Hotel and Casino on Las Vegas Boulevard, otherwise known as “The Strip.” With about 3,500 rooms, the Flamingo is the 9th largest hotel in the universe. However, it’s only the 8th-largest hotel in town. (Depending on the source, either 16 or 17 of the world’s 20 largest hotels are located on the Las Vegas Strip.) The most colossal of all Vegas mega-hotels, the MGM Grand (more than 5,000 rooms) actually is a small independent country. You might call it the Vatican City of Las Vegas.
