J.P.DENK Photography

WELCOME

Thanks for visiting JP Denk Photo, where you can travel vicariously to interesting, beautiful places. Along with some of my best photos, I try to provide useful (or at least entertaining) information about the places shown. I visit Europe and southwestern US as often as possible, so there is new content added to the site regularly. Hope you enjoy looking around!

RECENT NEWS

Seriously, I apologize. It’s been months since my last dazzling dispatch, and I know you must have been worried sick about me. I’m fine. Just took a little time off to determine why the USA is falling apart. And I have good news! Minutes of half-assed research, appropriate doses of bourbon, and my mathematico-scientific-y analyses have enabled me to pinpoint, with laser-pointer-like accuracy, the exact source of our problems.

Here’s the gist: our “leaders” suck. Empirically. Tests show that 97.8% of our elected officials—national, state, whatever—are unmitigated failures. (Turns out the other 2.2% are not actually “human,” per se. They’ll be part of a separate study.) Indeed, 42% of our “leaders” appear to have no discernable ability beyond using a grown-up toilet. The remaining 58% demonstrate extraordinary aptitude in the following four skills (but nothing else).

  1. Run for office, permanently, with a US flag patriotically tattooed on one’s forehead.
  2. Serve oneself at all times, with flaming hypocrisy.
  3. Lie. Have sex with the wrong people. Lie. Abuse power. Avoid blame. Lie. Fail.
  4. Encourage division and anxiety among the general population (helps with items 1 - 3).

That’s the sum of our leaders’ abilities, unless “destroying your country” is a talent. Thanks to these self-absorbed clowns, their predecessors of the last decade, and whoever put them in office (?!), we’re pretty much doomed. Bummer. But hey (silver lining!), unless one of the new über-ideologues gets elected, we should still have a couple more decades of relevance, since the rest of the world seems at least as screwed up as we are. See? Things aren’t so bad after all.

As the famous philosopher, Eric S. Idle, once noted, we should always look on the bright side of life. To help you locate the smiley side of every crappy circumstance, I’ve returned from my artistic hiatus with a new set of photos that will cause your ears to flutter with joy. This batch is from beautiful Bohuslän, on the west coast of Sweden. And to make amends for my long absence (oh, how you must have pined!), I’ve also added several new fetching wallpaper images that require no thought whatsoever. Hope you dig ‘em. Peace, and be nice to each other.
