Smudge Face. Multiple 35mm film frames overlaid, and partially processed into a positive image. Subject is unknown, as are the origins of this roll of film. It arrived unexpectedly with a batch of old filmstrips. Someone had stored it with one of the filmstrips and apparently forgot about it. The (metal) canister was rusted shut; I like to believe it hadn't been opened since that day. It's just snapshots, but this roll of film is one of my greatest discoveries so far. I estimate it's from the 1930s or 40s. For a different rendering, see Smudge Face Returns.
